The Allegiant P.U.D. in North Myrtle Beach implements a critical approach to the conventional planned unit development along the Grand Strand. Rooted in a sustainable approach that reinvents a synergistic model between environmental, economic, and social/cultural quality, the master plan embraces a unique program layered with interactivity. Sustainable methodologies explore groundbreaking techniques in dunal restoration/erosion control, organic roof farming, and species remediation as well as an ambitious model for a diverse transportation plan. The architecture and planning itself infused with day lighting techniques, natural ventilation and cooling processes, energy reduction, and renewable energies through building integrated photovoltaics. The Allegiant was a pilot project for the USGBC
